Specialist Care and Support for Children and Young People with Complex Needs
About Us
We provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care for individuals with complex needs, empowering them to live with dignity, independence, and opportunity. To improve the quality of life for all our stakeholders. This shapes everything we do, from daily routines to long-term care planning. Our homes are led by qualified, experienced professionals, including a Registered Manager, Responsible Individual, and Therapeutic Lead. This ensures governance, accountability, and consistency across all aspects of practice. We are working towards Ofsted registration and operate in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015). Our safeguarding framework ensures the rights, dignity, and well-being of every child are protected at all times. Families, professionals, and young people describe our homes as calm, caring, and purposeful. Their feedback drives our continual improvement and reflects our shared goal: to help children feel safe, connected, and capable of growth.
Our Approach
Therapeutic, Trauma-Informed Support Helping Children Heal, Learn, and Grow.
Our practice is guided by recognised therapeutic models, including Trauma-Informed Care, PACE, and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). We understand behaviour as communication and focus on creating relationships that promote emotional safety and trust.
Each child has an individual care plan co-produced with them and the professionals who know them best. This plan focuses on strengths, preferences, and achievable goals, and is reviewed regularly by the key working team.
All staff complete ongoing training through our in-house training department, ensuring competence in trauma, communication, safeguarding, and least restrictive practice training, including BILD ACT-certified training required under the Restraint Reduction Standards.
Clinical input is provided by our nurses and available through partnerships with psychologists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists. Together, we create consistent, supportive environments where children can decompress, recover, learn, and thrive. Our Safeguarding, Behaviour Support, and Restrictive Practice policies are available to view or download.
Residential Care
Our Homes
Eadwell Homes provides small, family-style residential environments for children aged 8–17 who have autism, learning disabilities, complex emotional or behavioural needs and complex PTSD. Each of our homes offers a stable, structured setting with dedicated staff and a consistent therapeutic approach. Children benefit from access to their own personal space, general living spaces, as well as sensory rooms and safe outdoor areas designed to promote comfort, belonging, and regulation.
Our homes are intentionally small to ensure every child receives individual attention and care. We focus on creating warm, predictable environments where positive routines help children build the skills and self-confidence to explore novel experiences. Visitors can explore our homes or through photos and our virtual tours that show the calm, homely spaces where children live and learn.
Our goal is simple – to provide a place where children feel secure, supported, and ready for new experiences.
Specialist Services
Autism & Neurodiversity Support
We recognise that every autistic child experiences and interacts with the world in their own unique way. Our homes are structured and sensory-aware, with predictable routines and visual supports that reduce anxiety and promote comfort. Staff are trained to understand sensory processing differences and communication preferences, creating an environment where neurodiverse children feel safe, understood, and respected.
Speech, Language & Communication
Communication is central to how children connect, express themselves, and feel secure. We work with Speech and Language Therapists to develop individual communication profiles and use tools such as visual timetables, social stories, and augmentative aids. Every child’s preferred method of communication is valued and supported, ensuring their voice is heard and their choices are understood in daily life.
Trauma , Exploitation and Recovery
Many of the children we support have experienced early trauma, loss, or exploitation. Our trauma-informed practice focuses on helping each child rebuild trust through safety, consistency, and emotional attunement. We work at the child’s pace, providing a stable environment where relationships are reliable and predictable, helping them regulate emotions and begin to experience security again.
Education & Learning Partnerships
We work closely with local specialist schools, colleges, and tutors to provide continuity of learning tailored to each child’s needs and EHCP outcomes. Our teams coordinate daily with education partners to ensure care and learning are integrated, supporting both academic progress and emotional growth.
Independence & Life Skills Pathways
Preparing for adulthood starts with everyday experiences. We support children to learn practical life skills such as cooking, personal care, money management, and community participation. These activities build self-confidence, independence, and a sense of achievement, helping each young person take meaningful steps toward a safe and capable future.
Education & Learning
Education is central to life at Eadwell Homes. Each child’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) shapes their learning pathway and daily routines. We maintain strong partnerships with local specialist schools and vocational providers to ensure continuity of education and progress towards personal goals. Learning extends beyond the classroom. Children are supported to develop essential life skills through cooking, self-care, budgeting, and community activities that build confidence and independence. Every achievement, however small, is celebrated and recorded to demonstrate growth and resilience. Our aim is to help each child find success through meaningful learning, preparing them for the next stage of their journey.
